"Ottava" sculpture demonstrates principles of modern sculpture with its use of simple geometric forms, negative space between the discs, and the way it plays with balance and perspective. Despite its abstract nature, the subtle suggestion of a form makes it both sophisticated and approachable. During the day the sunlight catching the surfaces of the discs creates interesting shadows and highlights that add depth to the piece.
